Losander spoke with many of us last night. He was very emotional as to be expected.
He has German health insurance and even paid extra for an optional plan that covers
his family all over the world. The normal procedure from the insurance company is you could not add the baby until it was born. Evidently this was also the case for Losander until this time. They now won't cover this operation claiming he was supposed to notify them before the birth. They did offer to fly the baby to Germany for the operation but the Heart surgeon and two others consulting heart surgeons said it was too dangerous and the operation needed to be done immediately.
Since this is not an American company he apparently has no real legal recourse.
He did an online letter to all the magicians that have bought from him online or visited his site, asking them to please go ahead with any purchases they were considering as this additional income would really help.
He received 10K mostly in donations and some purchases.
His fellow magicians in the World's Greatest Magic Show are taking up a collection as well.
